To our WFR customers, please be aware Canadian retaliatory tariffs began taking effect September 8, 2026.
These tariffs include a tariff on certain products imported into Canada from the United States. As a result, WFR has begun receiving notices from some of our U.S. suppliers advising us that pricing on affected products will be adjusted.
At this time, this does not mean that all WFR products will increase in price. The tariffs apply only to certain products and classifications, and we are currently working with each of our suppliers to determine which products will be affected.
Products Affected
To date, the products we know are affected by the tariffs include:
- All GearGrid products
- Staber Washer & Dryers
- All Action Coupling Equipment products
- Fire-Dex FXR turnout gear
What this means for WFR customers
- Existing WFR inventory will generally continue to be sold at our current pricing while available.
- Products already on order from suppliers but not imported into Canada before the tariff takes effect may be subject to additional tariff costs.
- New orders for affected U.S.-sourced products may require a price adjustment or tariff surcharge.
- Products that are not subject to the new tariffs will continue at their normal pricing, subject to regular supplier price changes.
- WFR will make every effort to clearly identify tariff-related increases rather than applying a general price increase across our product lines.
Existing Quotes and Purchase Orders
WFR will make every reasonable effort to honour existing quotations. However, where a new government-imposed tariff is charged to WFR after a quotation was issued, we may need to review the pricing before shipment.
If an existing purchase order is affected, our sales team will contact you before making any pricing adjustment.
We recognize that fire departments, municipalities, First Nations, industrial customers, and other emergency service organizations operate within established budgets. Our goal is to manage these changes as fairly and transparently as possible.
WFR is also fortunate to source products from manufacturers in Canada, Europe, Asia and other international markets, which may allow us to offer alternative products that are not affected by these particular tariffs.
