The Federal Model PA300 is an advanced, efficient, and economical full-featured
electronic siren. Based on Federal's unmatched experience in electronic siren
technology, the PA300 incorporates the latest solid-state engineering for superior
reliability. User selectable switching for horn ring tap and press/hold, manual horn/siren, and radio rebroadcast
Fused circuit failure protection, front panel PA volume control, and built-in noise canceling microphone available
Features A high degree of reliability is achieved through the use of integrated circuits and silicon output transistors providing improved performance and durability under a wide range of environmental conditions. A noise-canceling microphone is wired-in (to prevent loss or theft) producing high quality voice reproduction without feedback "squeal". The microphone push-to-talk switch overrides any siren signal for instant PA use. Radio and PA volume are adjustable by means of a front panel gain control, and the radio interconnect wires are built-in so there is no need to purchase additional cables. The PA300 is protected against all failure modes (including reversed polarity) by a fuse that is replaceable without tools. The unit can operate from any 12-volt positive or negative ground vehicle electrical system. Power for the siren can be obtained from the vehicle's power distribution centre, or directly from the vehicle battery. There are no protruding components to interfere with mounting arrangements. Each siren comes equipped with a swing bracket which enables mounting in a variety of positions. Also available is a stainless steel bezel (model DSM) for flush mounting and mounting compatible switch packages (model SW400SS for control of up to six auxiliary circuits or model SW400SSJ for seven circuit control). A wide range of features including all the basic siren tones, TAP II, PA, radio rebroadcast, as well as built-in air horn sound with siren override, are provided in a well-designed package. Field tested and proven for years, TAP II provides extremely effective traffic clearing capability at intersections. A front panel lever switch activates the electronic air horn or peak-and-hold on demand in any siren mode except radio.
