Modular Sirens
Exclusive Features For dual-mode, a second siren can be hooked up to double the sound level and create attention-grabbing two-tone sound combinations. Each of the sirens operates independently of the other. The Omega siren is protected against a short in the system with Automatic Component Protection (ACP®)> ACP circuitry constantly checks for electrical shorts in the system and insulates the siren to normal operation. Park Kill effectively reduces extraneous noise at the scene. By simply shifting the vehicle into park, the siren is disengaged and kept off until the operator switches it back on. The Instant-On P.A. function does not require an on/off switch for P.A. broadcasting. The microphone button activates the public address feature. For take-hone and K-9 vehicles a special non-siren alarm tone warns of tampering or of high temperature within the vehicle.

| Siren and Warning Light Controllers Simplify warning equipment control with the rugged Unitrol slide-bar. The slide-bar controls warning lights as well as siren functions. With a proven 25-year lifespan, the 60-ampere slide-bar is built to last, and it doesn't require any internal or external relays to operate. The following controllers can be easily installed on the dashboard face or console. In addition to the standard features previously listed, 6000, 7000, and 8000 series controllers operate rear lights, grille lights, front lights, beacons, headlight flashers, and any type of lightbar except serial linked. Three models are available with an optional switch, either momentary or maintained, for brake and backup light cutoff (blackout). They also can be used with a separate P.A. or radio microphone. | |

| The dual air bag requirement in passenger vehicles created a clear challenge for both equipment manufacturers and product installers. Federal Signal/Unitrol has introduced several products, identified as "Air Bag Wise", that are specifically designed for use in these newer vehicles. Designing light/siren controls mountable in locations neutral of air bag deployment zones, yet allowing easy visibility and use by the vehicle operator was a challenge conquered by Federal Signal engineers. When installing equipment inside air bag equipped vehicles, the installer must ensure that the equipment is installed only in areas recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. |
