Combining the conventional with the revolutionary, Federal Signal developed the Smart Vector® light system. With the same seven-pod design as the Vision® system, Smart Vector provides maximum light warning efficiency to the front, sides, and rear of your emergency response vehicle. V-shaped construction of the Smart Vector system allows light to be visible even at the 45 to 90° angles found at intersections. The special shape of the individual domes improves light transmission (brightness).

Each Smart Vector light system consists of five modular pods and two state-of-the-art microprocessor based light pods ("smart pods"). These user-friendly smart pods allow selection of several warning light patterns. Both smart pods perform the same selected pattern. The other five light pods come from the factory with installed, pre-selected or user specified options.

Each smart pod in the Smart Vector system contains a parabolic reflector, 50 watt halogen bulb, and 12 volt stepper motor. The combination of electronics and stepper motors allow the rotator assembly to perform several functions. Secondary functions of the smart pod include takedown/work light, left and right alley lights, and jog right and left.

In addition to secondary functions, the smart pod allows selection of three primary patterns. Primary patterns include rotating (your choice of 95, 120, or 175 FPM), oscillating to the front, rear, or intersection angle, or flashing to the front or rear. The primary "smart" function may be reselected to meet future requirements.

Approvals

All rotating lights meet Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) J845 specification.
All flashing lights meet SAE J595 specification.
California steady burn light meets California Automotive code (CAC) Class B specification.
Brake/turn/tail lights meet SAE J186 specification.

Serviceability
The seven light module design, and the use of individual motor options, allow you to easily service and minimize downtime on the Smart Vector light system. Removal of two Torx head screws allow easy access to individual light modules. Standard 795, 796, and H1 style bulbs are used for simple replacement.

Installation
The Smart Vector light system may be installed in any vehicle with a 12 volt negative ground electrical system. The light system comes equipped with hook-on or permanent mounting feet. Specify your mounting needs when ordering.

Simple to Operate
With the use of a standard control head, such as Federal's Model SW400SSJ, the light system can be operated with ease and efficiency. Also Federal's SS2000 siren and light control system offers a full-featured siren and control of the light system in a single, compact control head.

Colour Customization
Seven individual domes allow you to create a light system to complement your entire fleet of response vehicles. Modular domes and inserts are available in a variety of colours and are easy to remove or replace. Two Torx head screws are used to secure the domes in place. Inserts snap into molded tabs and are held in place with the dome.

When ordering, specify dome colours. For a two colour dome, order clear with coloured inserts, front and rear (red, blue, amber, or green). Coloured front inserts with alley cut-out (used with clear dome) are available for use with the alley light option.
