Pancake Halogen Light Installation Instructions

This device has been factory tested. If lamp fails to operate, twist cigarette plug and clean terminal to assure proper contact. Be sure the cigarette lighter fuse is intact.

Dome removal for cleaning and lamp replacement instructions: Twist dome counter-clockwise. Use two holes on base bottom for dome removal; a template of a simple fixture is provided below to assist in removing, should this be necessary. Interior dome cleaning: Use warm water before wiping with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Lamp replacement: Use only No. 797 Halogen lamps. Line up lamp bi-pins with holes in the socket, push lamp firmly into socket. Lamp filament must be at the same height with reflector center rivet for proper focusing. Replace dome by aligning tabs with base. Twist dome clockwise until locked.

Motor is permanently lubricated.

Large gear and pivot ring may be lubricated with no more than three (3) drops of MOBIL 1 synthesized engine lubricant or equivalent.

A lens hood is provided for driver’s eye protection during dash mounted situations.

A rubber gasket is provided between dome and base to secure the dome and protect against outside weather conditions. This light may require the use of a simple fixture to facilitate dome removal. (See below)

Items required, but not supplied: Flat piece of wood and two (2) No. 8 wood screws. Use this sheet and mark distance.

Screw in the two screws taking care that the screw protrusion does not exceed 3/8”. Assemble unit to screws ( two holes in bottom of  pancake light are spaced apart). Turn dome counter-clockwise. Retain fixture for future use.

Hook and loop tape application: Enclosed are three pieces of hook and loop tape and a round metal plate that have been provided as a means of securing the pancake light to a non-metallic dash.

To ensure good adhesion, all surfaces must be clean and dry.

Leaving the hook and loop pieces attached to each other, remove the release paper from one side and apply to round steel plate. Do the same for the other two pieces, applying all three to the same side of the plate. Mount the side of the plate without the hook and loop pieces to the bottom magnet of the pancake light. Remove the release paper from the three hook and loop pieces and position light, with plate attached to the dash, pressing firmly. Please wait a few minutes for adhesive to set.
