Permanent Mount Installation
  1. Remove lens from the lamp by unsnapping suitcase latch on the retaining band.
  2. Place the light on the roof of vehicle and determine a point on the roof where the light will be level in all directions
  3. Use light base to mark three mounting holes and a grommet hole on roof, using a sharp point tool
  4. Drill three 9/64" diameter mounting holes and one 1/2" diameter grommet hole in roof.
  5. Place furnished grommet into 1/2" diameter hole and run electrical wire through grommet, sliding the wire between the roof and the upholstery toward windshield or side. Attach end of wire to the dash switch and connect remaining terminal on dash switch to any lead which comes directly from the "hot" side of the battery. A 25 amp switch is required for installation.
  6. To prevent leakage, the grommet and wire should sealed with a mastic compound on the roof opening. Attach the lamp to the roof using three sheet metal screws and six rubber washers furnished with the lamp. Place ground ring terminal over one of the three mounting screws. To keep lamp level make sure all screws are tightened equally. The rubber washers provide a leak proof seal plus space the lamp above the roof so that the retaining band can be removed and replaced with no difficulty.
  7. Position gasket on top edge of pan before installing lens. Place the lens on the lamp base and the retaining band around the lamp and snap the suitcase latch on the band to retain lens.
