Installation Instructions
All connections are
external. There is no need to open the
control box during the installation process.
-
Mount the SHO-ME® Traffic Guide Two Piece
Arrow Board Panels on the vehicle as desired.
-
Route each hook up cable
from the Arrow Panels to the driver’s compartment or wherever the control box
will be located.
-
A mounting bracket is
provided for easy installation of the control box.
Determine a suitable position for the
mounting bracket and attach it to the vehicle with appropriate
fasteners.
-
Connect the bare end of the
heavy red wire to a 12-volt positive power source.
-
Connect the bare end of the
heavy black wire to a suitable chassis ground.
-
Connect hook up cable from
the Arrow Panel on the passenger’s side of the vehicle to the quick connect
terminal marked “Right”.
-
Connect hook up cable from
the arrow panel on the passenger’s side of the vehicle to the quick connect
terminal marked “Left”.
-
Assemble the control box to
the bracket.
These instructions
assume that the Arrow Board Panels are facing the rear of the vehicle.
However, if the arrow boards are flashing to
the left when the pilot lamps on the control box indicate that they should be
flashing to the right and vice versa, then the Arrow Board Panel on the
passengers side of the vehicle should be connected to the terminal marked
“Left”, and the Arrow Board Panel on the Driver’s side of the vehicle should be
connected to the terminal marked “Right”.
After completing the
installation, always check the direction, which the Arrow Board Panels are
flashing and be sure that it coincides with the direction, indicated by the
control box pilot lamps.
Maintenance Instructions
Trouble Shooting
-
If the SHO-ME® Traffic Guide Two Piece
Arrow Board is not operating properly or is not lighting to full brilliance,
make sure all wire connections made during the installation process are secure
and the power source is active. Take
particular care in making certain that ground connections are properly
made.
-
If the Arrow Board is still
not working, the Flasher Module may be inoperative. To determine for certain if the Flasher
Module is operating correctly, disconnect the Arrow Panels from the control
box. Disassemble the top portion of the
control box chassis. Place a jumper lead
from the Red positive wire terminal to the Yellow wire terminal on the PC
board. Connect the 12-volt power
source. Position the control switch to
“Pass Both Sides”. If all indicator
lamps on the control box light, the Flasher Module is inoperative. Replace with a new Flasher
Module.
