Extenda-Lite Pull-Up
Models with Top Mount Brackets (TM)
Mounting Instructions
Unpack the shipping box. Inside you will find an Extenda-Lite pole assembly
that is totally prewired with one (1) Top Mount Bracket, TM.
Inspect the box and all items inside for damage. Report any damage to the
delivering carrier immediately. If there is any damage, save the box and all
packing materials.
Select the location for your new Top Mounted Extenda-Lite. Make sure there
are no pipes or wiring that will be damaged when the mounting holes are drilled.
Then check to see that no levers, pipes, wiring, or shelves interfere with the
operation or mounting position of the light.
If your new Extenda-Lite does not fit where you want to mount it, contact us
immediately for assistance.
The Top Mount Bracket is already installed on the outside pole with a piece
of plastic under one of the three (3) set screws. This piece of plastic must be
removed once bracket location is selected. Make sure the mounting surface is
square and level. Mark and center punch each of the four (4) hole locations
while bracket is held in place. Drill four (4) 5/16" holes for the bracket
mounting bolts and a 1-3/4" hole for the outside pole to pass through. If
you feel that the bottom of the outside pole needs a clamp most manufacturers
use a standard automotive "U-clamp" bracket. A single Flush Mount,
SM-2 or SM-4 Side Mount bracket can be ordered as an option if the
"U-clamp" is not desired.
With pole in place, bolt the bracket into the holes drilled in step five, do
not over tighten. Slide pole assembly up or down to adjust the light head for
the desired level and overall stowed height. Finish tighting the bracket
mounting bolts and the three (3) 1/4 x 20 stainless steel set screws in the
bracket so the pole can not move up or down.
Each Pull-Up Top Mounted Extenda-Lite is a permanent installation and
requires a licensed electrician do the wiring on all 110/220 volt, AC electrical
circuits. Extenda-Lites and all electrical equipment must be wired to a properly
protected circuit breaker box following all National Electrical Codes.
Note: A convenient way to run cords through the body panels or into the
compartments is with the use of a Hubbell SHC-1022 strain relief or its equal.
This will give you a water tight sealed connection and wire protection all in
one.
If your Top Mount light is mounted in an area or on top of an equipment
compartment, it is always a good practice to seal the base with silicone
caulking before bolting the bracket firmly in place.
Black wire to circuit breaker's hot side.
White wire to breaker box's neutral bar.
Green wire to breaker box's ground terminals.
Make sure all wires are ran in areas that will not be hit or abraded. Use wire
ties to hold securely in place.
