Storage Hose Reel Installation

Single Row Reels:
Style V1, V 3½, V 2 and V 5 (when used with 1¾", 2", or 2½" hose only) are "single row" reels and have space between the reel sides for one width of hose. When the valve is located above the reel, the hose should be folded approximately at the centre of the length, and laid out on the floor with the female inlet coupling on top and the nozzle on the bottom. The folded end of the hose is started on the drum and is rolled over the top of the axle. When the coil is completed the inlet coupling is attached to the valve. When the valve is located below the reel, follow the same procedure as outlined above except that the hose is first laid out on the floor with the nozzle on top and the female inlet coupling on the bottom.

Double Row Reels:
Style V5 (when used with 1½" hose only) V 7, V 8, and V 9 are "double row" reels and have space between the reel sides to accommodate two widths of hose side by side. The same procedure is followed whether the location of the valve is above or below the reel. The hose is folded approximately at the centre of the length and laid out on the floor so that you have two parallel lines of hose side by side. Start the folded end on the drum and roll over the top of the axle. Two coils will be made simultaneously by this operation, each coil containing approximately half of the total length of hose. When the coil is completed the inlet coupling is attached to the valve.
