Sooke Fire station # 1 Hall Located at 2225 Otter Point Road was officially named 
after long-time volunteer Bill Stephenson.

At the same time a memorial ceremony was held to remember the the
Sept. 11 attack on America.

The American and Canadian flags were at half mast as Fire Chief Kelsey spoke to the
citizens of Sooke and the Fire Department representatives from the Southern Island region.

A moment of silence remembered the Fire Fighters and all who lost their 
lives in the New York City disaster of "911".
