Hydrophor Pump Instructions

SAFETY MEASURES
  1. Observe this instruction manual before operation and maintenance. Persons who are not familiar with this instruction manual should not operate this pump. Young persons under the age of 16 should not operate this pump and should be kept away from it. A qualified person should inspect if the safety measures have been carried out before operating this pump.
  2. Always pull the plug out of the power source, before working on the electrical parts of the pump.
  3. Never use the pump in a swimming pool.
  4. Never lift or transport the pump by its power cord.
  5. Always disconnect the plug out of the power source, before carrying out repair and maintenance work.
  6. Never expose the Hydrophor Pump to direct jets of water.
  7. Never let the pump run dry (without water).
  8. We cannot be held responsible for damages caused by our pump due to not
    observing this instruction manual.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

  • Power consumption 0.8 kW
  • Voltage 230 V
  • Capacity 3.5 m³ / H
  • Operating pressure 2.5 - 5 Bar (72.5psi)
  • Weight 34 kg.

INSTRUCTION

Connect the suction hose onto the suction inlet on the Hydrophor Pump. The other side of the hose must be connected to a water tap or water reservoir (FKC Fluid bag)
Connect the pressure hose onto the pressure outlet on the Hydrophor Pump.
The other side of the hose must be connected to the inlet of the Hot Box 200.

The Hydrophor Pump and the suction hose have to be filled with water before starting
up. Open the water tap or open the tap on the FKC Fluid bag.
By turning the mini-valve open, the pump will deflate, so that the water will flow into
the pump.
The pump is deflated when the water stops flowing. Close the mini-valve.
Leave the water tap or the Fluid bag tap open.

Now the pump is ready for use.
The 20 l. tank takes care of a stable pressure inside the pump.
It can take a few seconds before the pump sucks up the water from the water tap or
Fluid bag.

MAINTENANCE

  • The Hydrophor Pump is maintenance free.
  • With frost, put the Hydrophor Pump in a dry and frost-free place. Let the water out of the hoses before a period of frost. The hoses or the pump can tear up when the water freezes.
  • The rubber rings in the hoses should be checked for drying-up, annually.

ATTENTION! Use this pump only for clean non-explosive liquids.

FAULTS
ATTENTION! Always switch off the voltage before dismounting the pump if there is a fault.

Fault: The motor is not working.

    Possible cause:
  • No voltage on the pump
  • >
  • Motor is too hot.

  • Solution:
  • Check the voltage on the power source.
  • Check the power cords for faults.
  • Check if the connections are not loose.
  • The motor protector has switched off the pump; after cooling down the motor will start again.

Fault: Motor is humming; switch off the pump immediately.

    Possible causes:
  • Capacitor is defect.
  • The spindle of the pump is stuck.
  • The pump is stopped up by pollution.
  • A defective fuse at 3-phases -motor.

  • Solution:
  • Check if the spindle of the pump runs without resistance. If this is not the case then an expert should dismount and clean the pump. If the spindle of the pump runs without problems, then contact EMC.

Fault:The pump is working, but there is no water coming out of the pressure hose.

    Possible cause:
  • Water tap or FKC Fluid bag is stopped up.
  • Water level is too low.
  • The pump and suction hose are not filled with water or the suction hose is not tightly connected.

  • Solution:
  • Check if the suction hose or the pump is filled with water.
  • Check if the suction hose is all right. Fasten the clamps of the hoses or the connection. Clean the valve in the suction connection.
  • Put the pump in a lower place.

Fault: There is not enough water coming out of the pump.

    Possible causes:
  • The pump is polluted.
  • Suction hose is not tightly connected.
  • Turn direction of the pump is wrong.
  • Spindle seal is leaking.
  • The fan is worn out.
  • The culvert is too little or too much resistance in the pressure hose.

  • Solution:
  • For the first two causes: Check if the spindle of the pump is turning without resistance. If this is not the case then an expert should dismount and clean the pump. If the spindle of the pump runs without problems, then contact EMC.
  • For the last four causes: Contact WFR.
