1. Open tank dump valve.
2. Open valve to recirculation piping, located at the top of the vertical red hose.
3. Start motor.


• Prime fuel line with squeeze bulb at front of motor.
• Turn on ignition switch.
• Pull up choke for cold starts.
• Push starter button.
• Reset choke.
• Adjust pressure to 80 psi and lock throttle when water is flowing.
• Note: A manual start handle is located at the front of the motor.
• Priming is automatic on this type of installation (see primer below).
• Warning - Do not run pump without water for more than 2 minutes.
4. Pull out hose line, if desired.
5. Open valve to desired fixture. The monitor on the operators side (blue handle) and/or hose valve at hose fitting (red valve) and close recirculation valve. If at any time the discharge fixtures are shut off for more than two minutes, the recirculation valve must be opened.
6. Adjust pressure, as required. Note--Valve in front of pressure gauge must be open.

Stopping Procedure

1. After extended run time let engine idle for two minutes before shutting down. As a safeguard, open recirculation valve.
2. Shut down engine.

Monitor Operation

The monitor can be adjusted horizontally and laterally. Locking collars must be loosened to allow movement and tightened to hold the desired placement. A shut-off valve is located on the operator's side at the rear of the engine (blue handle).

Hose Operation

To use the fire hose grasp the bottom loop and pull the complete hose load out. Advance the nozzle to the desired location and signal for the valve located at the front of the hose bed to be turned on. The knob on the side of the nozzle gives the nozzleman the choice of off, fog or straight stream. By turning the rubber tip, the nozzleman can select the size of the stream he desires.

Foam Operation

This unit is provided with a Kon-A-Matic around the pump proportioner to introduce a Class "A" foam into the water stream. Class "A" foam will break down the surface tension of the water and increase its efficiency from 3-5:1.

To operate this feature the following procedure must be followed.

1. Water must be flowing out of one of the fixtures, monitor or hose.
2. Place a pick-up tube into one of the pails.
3. Close recirculation valve, if not already closed.
4. Using the black foam metering device turn the lower portion from "Off" to the "C" position.
5. The metering valve can be adjusted down to "A" for less foaming and up to "F" for a thicker foam blanket.
6. If water flow to the discharge fixtures is stopped the foam metering valve must be turned "Off" and the recirculation valve opened as previously mentioned.
7. If the recirculation valve is left open during foam operation, leakage of the foam concentrate into the water tank is possible and is of no concern. This may show itself as foam emitting from the gooseneck overflow.

IMPORTANT
On completion of firefighting operations, the foam pick-up tube is to be placed in a pail of clean water, the pump operated discharging water through the monitor and fire hose connection and the metering valve rotated through its full range. This is important to clean out the foam pick-up equipment.

The fire hose should be wiped down and reloaded. To reload, the hose is connected to the outlet and laid to the rear of the hose tray. It is then folded forward and allowed to extend about 6" past the front of the tray. From there it is folded back and laid to the rear of the tray and then forward again. This time, at the front, it is folded back before it extends outside of the tray. The remainder of the layers are done in this manner so that only the bottom loop extends beyond the tray. The top layer should be finished with the nozzle within easy reach of the front of the tray.

The water tank is to be refilled and made ready for the next incident. Refilling can be done by connecting a 1½" hose to the connection to the left of the overfill gooseneck, to the 2½" connection to the right of the overfill gooseneck, or by using the man-hatch on top.

Ensure that full foam containers are in place on the trailer.

Precautions for Winter Operation
After use, water must be drained from all piping and the pump. Drains are provided on the underside of the pump housing, below the monitor and hose connections and at the bottom of the recirculation piping. To ensure a complete drain disconnect hoses and open the monitor, recirculation valve and hose valves.
