Ultra-Lite Supreme Coating Data Sheet
Permatek® HP
A high performance polymeric dispersion formulated especially for use on fire hose jackets. By the nature of the polymer and the process by which it is applied Permatek® HP virtually encapsulates every fibre of the substrate thereby imparting superior physical properties.

Performance When Applied to Sample Hose
U.V. Resistance Excellent No deterioration after 600 hours U.V. exposure (equivalent to 2 years of sunlight).
Fungal Resistance Excellent Does not support fungal growth
Heat Resistance Good A 4" propane flame held 1" from the hose took 18 seconds to burn through.
Water Retention Minimal Two identical pieces of hose, one treated with Permatek® HP and the other untreated, soaked in tap water for 1 hour. After drip drying for 3 minutes the untreated hose gained 44% of its weight while the Permatek® HP treated hose gained only 25%.
Abrasion Resistance Excellent Depending on the type of hose tested, an increase of 100% to 400% in the ability of the hose to withstand abrasion may be realized with Permatek® HP protection when checked with a standard F.M. Abrasion Tester. Using a Taber Abrasion Tester a 500% to 600% increase may be expected.
