BREATHING
Requirements for Proper Installation of Fill Station
The following requirements are essential to the operation and life of your Breathing Air System. Read them carefully and make sure that the items that need time to supply or complete are done before the system is delivered. The conditions of the warranty depend greatly on the proper preparation of the area and installation.

Location

  • Ideally in it's own room (see Note A)
  • Room size to be adequate for access for service of all sides of the compressor (unless specified for wall installation)
  • Door size to allow entry of compressor
  • Allow for adequate cooling
-1000 CU ft. fresh air/minute/5 HP is recommended
-Ideal operating temperature range is from 15°C to 25°C (60°F to 80°F)
  • Fresh air for cooling to enter at floor level and exit just below ceiling level. A fan at ceiling level will make it more efficient.
  • In cold environments, provisions must be made to heat the incoming air or to locate it away from direct impingement on the compressor.
  • Installed on a firm, dust free, level surface.
  • Allow for weight of the compressor.
  • If equipment is to be wall mounted, make sure the space is free and will support the weight.
NOTE A: If the compressor is to be installed in the truck bays, a secure, remote air supply is required. Adequate space is to be provided for cooling air movement and cleanliness of the area is to be assured.

Electrical Service

  • Ensure that electrical service is provided to the compressor location.
  • Ensure that it matches the requirements of the motor.
  • Wiring is to be done by a licensed electrician.
  • If desired, a plug-in can be supplied for installation in the compressor room.
Air Intake
A good supply of fresh, uncontaminated air is essential. Consider the following factors:

Inside source:

  • Vehicles starting and/or running in building
  • Installation in room with chemical storage
  • Volatile gases
Outside source:
  • Vehicles parked and running in area of intake
  • Industrial air contamination
Remote air intake to be used if inside source may be contaminated.
Contact WFR for sizing specs.

Water Supply
Where the installation requires water for cooling and/or "WET-FILLING" of cylinders, adequate water supply and drainage are to be provided.

WARNING: Breathing contaminated compressed air will cause sickness and/or death.
