DOT Compressor Storage
Air cascade systems can include two or more DOT cylinders, mounted in your facility, on a mobile air trailer or inside your fire truck. DOT cylinder mounting racks are available for stationary and mobile applications.
Air cascading simply means equalizing the pressure between the cylinder to be refilled and the next lowest supply cylinder. If this doesn't get the desired pressure in the small cylinder, the supply cylinder is turned off and the next highest supply cylinder is opened and the pressure allowed to equalize between the two cylinders.
Get approximately 38 refills of 2216 psi 45 CF SCBA cylinders from a four
cylinder cascade. This estimate assumes the SCBA cylinder has 500 psi remaining
in it at the time of refilling.
Cylinders must be hydro-tested every five years to five thirds their working
pressure. No 10% overfill is available with these cylinders.
4500 PSI/444 CF (AC 40040), 149 pounds empty, they measure 9 5/16" diameter by 56"
to the top of the CGA 347 valve. Hydrostatic test pressure is 6750 psi. DOT
Classification is DOT-E 9421-4500. Canadian permit number - SU 4221.
6000 PSI/519 CF (AC 40060), 188 pounds empty, they measure 9 9/32" diameter by 56"
to the top of the CGA 702 valve. Hydrostatic test pressure is 9000 psi. DOT
Classification is DOT-E 9909-6000. Canadian permit number - SU 4221.
