The only four-section, 100',
articulating aerial ladder platform in the industry. The Sky-Arm articulates
a full 60-degrees below grade, making it ideal for water, ravine and ditch
rescues.

FEATURES
- Four (4) section, telescoping steel ladder constructed of high strength
steel, certified to 80,000 psi with articulating fly and a self-leveling basket
- Aerial device mid-mounted behind the cab to a torque box sub-weldment
with front and rear stabilizers
- Modular construction allows for easy component replacement if damage
were to occur
LADDER ASSEMBLY
- Ladder sections are trussed vertically and diagonally
- All ladder rungs are welded to each section in two (2) places with
k-bracing for rigidity
- Rungs are sheathed with a heavy duty, serrated rubber
- Extension and retraction motion by dual hydraulic powered cylinders
and cable pulley system
- Rotation motion through a 48" swing bearing/spur gear, driven by one
(1) planetary hydraulic motor
- Elevation motion through (2) double acting, lift cylinders (6 deg below
horizontal to 75 deg above)
- All cylinders designed with integral holding valve cartridges in
the event of a hydraulic line failure
- Rotational brake applies when pressure control is released
PLATFORM BASKET ASSEMBLY
- Basket structure constructed of high strength 6061-T6 aluminum
- Basket shall rotate 28 degrees either side of center
- Basket floor shall be of an open type grating to prevent the
accumulation of water
- Front deck 6", 4" on sides
- Rubber bumpers below basket to prevent damage
- Encircled with a safety rail 42" high
- Fully illuminated basket interior
- Two (2) lifting rings below the basket attached directly to the platform
frame work
- Control panel mounted on the right side of the basket
TURNTABLE DECK- Turntable construction is .88" thick 100,000
psi steel covered with aluminum treadplate
- The turntable is 96" wide x 118" long
- Access to the turntable is from rear body stair wells, one each side
of the truck
- Stairs are lit by two lights activated by the aerial master switch
- Includes control console and space for hydraulic and electrical
components
AERIAL DEVICE POWER- One turntable control station located
on driver side
- Aerial controls are electronic over hydraulic and
proportionate
- All aerial device controls have fail-safe manual hydraulic overrides
- Hydraulic load sensing piston pump, capable of multiple-function
operation without speed loss
- High pressure hydraulic manifold block
- Pressure and return filtration system
- Hydraulic reservoir of 65 gallons
- Relief valve set at 3,150 psi to protect hydraulic system
components
- 12V emergency power unit (EPU) with 30-minute run time, capable
of stowing the ladder in the event of a power loss
CONTROL STATIONS
- Lower control station, rear compartment, centrally located
- Turntable control station
- Aerial basket control station
AERIAL WATERWAY
- Water swivel 5 inch capable of 360 degree rotation
- Telescoping anodized aluminum waterway capable of 1,000 gpm
- 5" dia. base waterway pipe
- 5" swivel capable of operating between -6 degrees and up to 75
degrees
- A 250 psi pressure relief valve located below the torque box
- Aerial monitor (electric), capable of 1,000 gpm
- Water flow monitored by digital flowmeter
- 5" rear inlet to the aerial waterway
COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
- Atkinson communication system between the basket and the
turntable console, with optional 3rd station at pump panel
- Master control at the turntable with push button talk and volume
control
- Self contained "hand-off' speaker/mic at the basket
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Electrical swivel capable of 360 degrees with 36 collector rings,
each capable of 20 amps
- 110V electrical system
- Four (4) 12V unity lights standard, two at the basket, two at base
PUMP AND PUMPHOUSE
- A midship pumphouse, centered in the frame, ahead of body
- Removable pump panels provide access to the pump for maintenance
- Valves-Akron standard (Elkhart optional)
- Pump pressure governor standard (option for a discharge relief valve
or TPM)
AERIAL BODY- Compartmentation fabricated from .125" 5052
aluminum with a tensile strength of 38,000 psi
- Side compartments integral assembly with the rear fender
- Neoprene elastomer isolators will isolate chassis movement from
the body structure
- Bodies are formed and welded construction for durable, long
lasting design without the unnecessary weight
- Exclusive Pierce underslung steel body supports featuring
3-point isolated mount system. This reduces torsional stress and
road shock from being transmitted into the body. The underslung
design prevents compartment floors from sagging after years of use.
- Aluminum extruded rub rails, bolted on for easy repair
- Interior of all compartments are painted with multispec to hide
dirt, abrasions, and protect from oil, gas, and hydraulic spills
- Automotive-style hinged doors constructed with double pan,
double seals, enclosed latches, and .25" hinge pins
- Roll-up doors with lifetime warranty (available in satin or
painted finish)
- Handrails are Pierce's exclusive "cross knurled" design to
reduce hand slippage
